BLUEHOST SETUP

For us to install self-hosted WordPress, you first need to create a hosting account. We love, use and are affiliates for Bluehost, meaning we will receive a commission if you purchase a hosting package by clicking on the link below. An additional consideration:  Bluehost offers a FREE SSL certificate, to ensure that your blog is Google-friendly.  Godaddy charges $69 per year for this service!   Ready to get started? These are the easy, step-by-step instructions to set up your Bluehost account! First, click here

This will take you to a page that looks like this:

You can select the Basic package, this perfectly fine for a WordPress blog.  Feel free to upgrade to the other packages, but the Basic is really all you need. After you click the green Select button you will be directed to this page:

If you already have a domain, you can enter it here.  One big positive to Bluehost is that it does include a free domain with your hosting plan, so if you need a new domain, enter it in the New Domain box.  Alternately if you already have a domain registered, you can get another free domain (eg. www.GLAMOURGIRL.net) which can then be pointed to your primary domain as well.  Just keep in mind that you will be charged for this new domain registration at the end of your free year so I do not recommend adding an extra domain, there’s no need . You do NOT need to actually transfer your domain to Bluehost if it is registered elsewhere, if Top Notch Creative is your blog or site designer, we will point your domain to Bluehost for you. Just fill out the account information and your credit card information.  We do highly  recommend adding Sitelock and Site Backup as well as Domain Privacy to your account.  Keep in mind the credit card will be charged if you choose autorenew (recommended).  Bluehost will send you a confirmation email with your login information and other basic information, keep this email for your records (Top Notch Creative is not responsible for hosting or domain updates or renewals, each client will have their own hosting and domain registration). And that’s it!  Top Notch Creative will take care of installing WordPress for you and pointing your domain to your Bluehost hosting.
